Manchester City vs Manchester United – Premier League (1-2)
Labeled as ‘Oracle Most Improbable Comeback’. Manchester trailed in the 88th of a derby after a Josko Gvardiols header from a corner. The Red Devils’ win probability had plummeted to a mere 7%.
But then came Amad. The 22-year-old winger, brought on late in the game, instantly changed the script. The Ivorian latched onto a loose ball and drew a foul from makeshift fullback Matheus Nunes inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot without hesitation.
Bruno Fernandes, slotting home the penalty to level the score in the 88th. Before Amad found himself again controlling a ball over the top from Maguire in the 90th, scoring from a tight angle sending the away crowd into euphoria. From near-defeat to triumph, the Red Devils sealed the comeback at the depth.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Bodø/Glimt – Europa League (3-1)
In a disappointing Premier League campaign that saw the Lilywhites drop as low as 16th, Tottenham Hotspur found redemption on the European stage. Their Europa League run turned heads, delivering some of the club’s finest performances in continental competition in recent memory, bringing them within touching distance of a long-awaited trophy.
After dispatching Bodø/Glimt in the semifinals, Spurs set up an all-English showdown with Manchester United at San Mamés. In a tense and tightly contested final, Tottenham edged out a 1–0 victory, claiming their first European trophy in 53 years, and their first piece of silverware since 2008.
Aston Villa vs PSG – Champions League (3-2)
Hindsight is 20/20 but beating the side which won the final by the biggest margin in a Champions League Final proves what a feat this was. Despite ultimately losing on aggregate the Villans put up a fight which brought the side in touching distance of the Quarter Finals.
The club can hold their heads high after an admirable return to the Champions League, their first appearance since 1982/83.
While they narrowly missed out on qualification for next season’s edition, they’ll now shift their focus to the Europa League. There, they’ll be managed by the competition’s most decorated manager, Unai Emery who has lifted the trophy on four occasions.
Everton vs Southampton – Premier League (2-0)
The last home game of the season for the Toffee’s saw a blue mist descend upon Liverpool. The blue fog was visible from the new home of Everton, the Hill Dickinson Stadium a couple miles away.
It was only six minutes before star of the show Iliman Ndiaye got the party started with a low finish past Aaron Ramsdale. Forward partner Beto saw his two goals rules out for offside, before rounding the keep to double the Toffee’s lead in the first half.
The game eventually ending with the same scoreline. Seeing Moyes’ side ending the men’s era at the ground with a win.
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace – FA Cup (0-1)
Wembley bore witness to one of the greatest spectacles in English football as Crystal Palace lifted the FA Cup for the first time in their 119-year history, defeating seven-time winners Manchester City in a dramatic final.
Eberechi Eze etched his name into Palace folklore, scoring the only goal of the game in a performance filled with poise and precision. The victory was sealed when Dean Henderson saved a penalty from Omar Marmoush, sending the Palace faithful into raptures.
The win not only marks a historic milestone for the South London club but also books them a date with Liverpool in the FA Community Shield, a chance to crown their fairytale run with another trophy.
