Aston Villa have qualified for the third consecutive season into European competition, it may not be under the Tuesday or Wednesday floodlights but there is progression.
Alongside the pedigree Unai Emery has shown within the Europa League, the manager has won the tournament four times, three consecutive titles with Sevilla (2014, 2015, and 2016) and another with Villarreal in 2021. If Vila were to lift the Europa League, it’d be there first in 42 years.
Domestic Cups
After last season where we saw the end of trophy droughts with Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace both pick up the major honours through the domestic cups. It’ll remain to be seen whether the year of the underdog will continue into the 2025-26.
Historically, the FA Cup has been dominated by Arsenal and Manchester United, in which the two have won the competition 14 and 13 times respectively.
