New Wembley Hospitality Experiences
It might seem strange to be talking about international football so soon after the domestic season has kicked off, but we wanted to share some exciting news about our hospitality offerings at Wembley Stadium, ahead of some intriguing fixtures over the next couple of months.
Number Nine Restaurant
We’re delighted to be able to provide full hospitality experiences in the Number Nine Restaurant, promising not only some of the best seats in the stadium, alongside the Royal box in the North Stand, but also a superb culinary experience from the chef’s table. You and your guests will enjoy three courses of incredible food, along with a full complimentary bar. The restaurant, situated in the Atrium Lounge, opens three hours before kick off, and you can let the crowds die down for an hour after the final whistle, enabling you to arrive and leave Wembley at a leisurely pace. With a smart casual dress code, Number Nine Restaurant is the perfect setting to fully experience what a night at Wembley has to offer.
Level 2 Premium Executive Seat
Of course if you’re only interested in the match itself, we can also provide seat-only packages, in the executive Level 2 of the stadium. With easy access to the food and drink offering at the Taphouse Kitchen Diner, and Social Bar, plus a free matchday programme with each seat, you’ll be able to enjoy a wonderful view of the action from executive padded seats. Again you’ll be allowed access to the stadium three hours before kick off, and the hospitality area remains open for an hour after the final whistle.
So, what matches are coming up?
After an away Euro 2024 qualifying fixture against Ukraine, followed by a “friendly” with Scotland, in September, the home autumn season kicks off with a friendly against Australia on Friday 13th October. It’ll be the 8th time England have taken on the Socceroos, and the first time they have met at Wembley. England have only lost once to the visitors from down under – a 3-1 defeat at Upton Park in 2003, under Sven Goran Eriksson; and the last meeting came in 2016 at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, when Roy Hodgson got the better of new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, with a 2-1 win. On the scoresheet that night was Marcus Rashford, who will be hoping to add to his England tally in October.
England will continue their European Championships qualifying campaign at the home of football on Tuesday October 17th, against the side that defeated them at Wembley in the Euro 2020 final, Italy. Having impressively won in Naples in March, England know that a home win will put them firmly in the driving seat to win Group C, and book their place in next year’s finals. But if you’re looking for bad omens, I can help you out… England haven’t beaten Italy at Wembley for nearly half a century, when Ron Greenwood’s side, led by Emlyn Hughes, won 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier. The goals came from Kevin Keegan and Trevor Brooking, but Italy’s revenge came when they won the group by virtue of having a better goal difference than England. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself.
On Friday November 17th, England’s qualifying campaign will continue at Wembley against Malta, a side ranked 171st in the world. Unsurprisingly, England have a 100% record against the visitors from the Med, conceding only twice on the six occasions they’ve met. The reverse fixture in June wasn’t a classic. Southgate’s side won 4-0, courtesy of two penalties and an own goal, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold’s 25-yard banger.
