Who is the NFL bringing to the UK?

The National Football League (NFL) has announced the designated teams set to play in London as part of the 2025 NFL International games.

The teams are as follows; The New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos.

Jacksonville Jaguars and LA Rams are set to play at Wembley while the other teams, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos are set to play across town at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Where & when does it take place?

On the 19th October Wembley will be the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. As the side have an agreement with the NFL and Wembley Stadium.

Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham FC owner Shad Khan said “We are once again delighted that we will be back in London later this year for our 14th game in the capital and are grateful for our extended partnership with the Football Association that makes it possible to play another home game at Wembley Stadium, one of the world’s most iconic stadiums and the Jaguars’ home away from home,”

The NFL will also play eight other regular season games throughout Europe’s biggest stadiums. Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu, Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.

How many times have the NFL played internationally?

The NFL have played games internationally since the first time in 1976 when they expanded to Japan, which saw the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Chargers face off at the Korakuen Stadium.

Furthermore in 2007, the NFL took major steps by launching the NFL International Series. The series features regular-season games played outside of the US. The series began with the then-biggest stadium in Europe, London’s, Wembley Stadium on October 28, 2007.

The instant success of NFL playing at Wembley was seen. Since then London has hosted 39 regular season games. 26 at Wembley, 10 at Tottenham and three at Twickenham. In 2024 Wembley saw a record breaking year with 80,000 tickets sold.

How have previous meetings gone down?

In an East v West clash this match up against for the Rams will come with plenty of narratives.

As LA are one of the top teams in the National Football Conference, they will provide a valuable mid-off-season test for the Florida side.

The two-way Jag has entered the NFL with a lot of hype with the Jaguars hoping he will become a generational receiving prospect, at the moment he certainly has the number to back it up.

Cleveland Browns

Cedric Tillman will be looking to build on the momentum he gained late in his rookie season. While his totals, 21 catches for 224 catches in the final 14 games were modest, they reflected a larger role in offence in years to come. With a full off-season to develop, Tillman could take a solid step forward and become a regular contributor for the Cleveland Browns in year two.

New York Jets

Garrett Wilson has racked up 1,104 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, alongside catching passes from eight different quarterbacks. Also became one of only five wide receivers in NFL history to record at least 80 receptions, 1,000 yards and three touchdowns in each of his first three season. The New York native will be wanting to improve massively after their previous season which the side struggled.

Los Angeles Rams

Since the recent departure of Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua has become the star of the Rams with the side looking to rebuild their offence through the third-year star. The 23 year old is regard as one of the best wide receiver in the NFL.
