Champions League Draw 2024/25

Chelsea vs Liverpool
UEFA Champions League 2024 / 25

As we push towards autumn, and the Premier League season begins to settle into its annual routine, attention for the big clubs turns to European football.

The new look Champions League, featuring Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa, kicks off on the 17th and 18th of September. The format, for those of you struggling to get your heads round it, sees each of the 36 sides play 8 matches in a super-league. The teams finishing in the top 8 positions after these matches go through to the knockout round of 16; the teams from 9th to 24th go into play offs for a place in the last 16. It’s an exciting change to the old format, and genuinely feels like some of the so-called minnows have a chance of making their mark in the big
competition.

Over the coming months Manchester City will face Inter Milan, Slovan Bratislava, Sparta Prague, Sporting Lisbon, Feyenoord, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain and Brugge.

Arsenal have drawn Atalanta, PSG, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter, Sporting, Monaco, Dinamo Zagreb and Girona.

Arne Slot’s first Liverpool Champions League campaign sees his side face AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, holders Real Madrid, Girona, Lille and PSV Eindhoven.

Aston Villa’s reward for a brilliant season last year will see them play Young Boys, Bayern Munich, Bologna, Brugge, Juventus, Leipzig, Monaco and Celtic.

It’s an intriguing list of single-leg matches, and we’re delighted to be able to offer you first class hospitality packages for the majority of the home fixtures. It’s hard to pick the stand-out games, given that all the clubs involved in this fantastic competition carry a gravitas, but here are a few dates for your diaries!

Manchester City’s opening match at the Etihad on Wednesday 18th September against the team they beat to win the competition two years ago, Inter Milan, should be a cracker to start the campaign off; Liverpool host current champions Real Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday 27th November, just three days before they welcome Manchester City to their famous old ground, in what could be a season-defining double header; Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal face Paris Saint Germain in their first home Champions League match on Tuesday 1st October; and Aston Villa have three superb fixtures under the Villa Park lights – Bayern Munich on Wednesday 2nd October, Juventus on Wednesday 27th November, and finally Celtic on Wednesday 29th January.
